Call for 'Agile' Reviewers
Agile Financial Management
Overview
A new title
"Agile Financial Management: A Practical Guide for Project
Managers" is about to be created in an Agile way! This is an exciting
undertaking in agile publishing between the
IARM and
TSO.
The aim is to create a practical resource for those working with project finances in the agile community. It will include examples of mainstream methodologies (e.g., Scrum, DSDM) and issues ranging from classification of costs, agile project appraisals, management of financial uncertainty and the impact of agile on the bottom line will be discussed. Illustrations together with worked examples will help clarify the key concepts and give guidance on matters of practical significance.
The target audience comprises of project managers and related individuals (e.g., PMO staff) who wish to know how to understand financial matters in an agile context. These might include managers who wish to adapt their existing financial knowledge to agile projects or agile project managers who must acquire the necessary financial skills in order to manage their projects. This publication is likely to be of interest to both practitioners and students alike.
We are looking for experts and new ideas to help create an innovative title!
Participants will
see content emerge as 2 or 3 iterations for each of the six chapters. Not only
this, 'reviewers' will have the opportunity to comment on the content with
suggestions on how to improve it.
What's in it for me?
As a reviewer, you
will not only have access to brand new content, you will also be able to make
suggestions for modifications and improvements as well as participate in the
community forum. All active participants will receive a 'free' copy of the
final PDF to which they contributed, as well as acknowledgement in the final
title.
How can this be created in an agile manner?
From February to
August content will written by the author and posted at the end of each
iteration to a Dropbox. This can be accessed by registered reviewers. Each
iteration will commence on a Monday and last for two weeks with the review
period spanning Thursday to Sunday of the second week. Approximately each
month, a chapter will be completed and passed over to TSO for production after
which it will become available for sale.
How do I become a reviewer?
To become a
reviewer you must
register
first. You will then be sent a user account for
the IARM
website which will enable you to participate in the Reviewer Community Forum
(login required). You will also receive an invitation to join the Reviewer
Community Dropbox which can be used to download copies of each chapter and
upload your feedback.
We look forward to your participation!
